Woodhill Golf:
Built on what was previously a dairy farm, Woodhill retains a country feel even though it is situated in South Africa's capital city Pretoria conveniently close to the N1 highway. The 18-hole championship course was designed by Peter Matkovich and is surrounded by 707 prestigious residential properties.
On Course
The Woodhill golf course is among the most popular in Pretoria. A practice range, as well as a putting green, and a separate chipping green with a bunker, are positioned in close proximity to the clubhouse. Woodhill excels in that it offers both the beginner and the low handicap golfer excellent features and challenges.
Water comes into play on holes 9, 12, 15 and 18, with a possibility of water on holes 16 and 17. Woodhill is a combination bushveld/parkland course, with kikuyu fairways and tees, and veld grass rough.

Really hot weather and a lack of rain have made it difficult the last couple of weeks to keep the course in the condition that it is in. Fertility levels have increased a lot, especially in some rough areas, and the results are noticeable. The Kikuyu is compeng well with the osgrass.
Manicuring in all areas is up to standard and this will keep on improving towards the end of the growing season.
The last servitudes that need to be linked to the golf course are in the process of being completed and the end is in sight. A lot of landscaping has taken place regarding mounding to protect the houses on the golf course.
The new chipping green is doing well considering the fact that the type of bent grass being used there is a much slower grower than others.
Due to the weather that we have been experiencing, diseases on greens has been non-existent.
Overall, the golf course is in good condition and Mike Wallington was also very impressed with the conditioning and improvement.
We would like to remind players to respect the golf course by fixing divots, pitchmarks and to obey the rules regarding the cart paths.

You are kindly requested to comply with the club’s dress code. Woodhill Country Club is proud of its standard and every effort is made to ensure that it is upheld. Management and employees have both the responsibility and authority to interpret appropriate wear and to ensure that standards are maintained.
Gentleman
HEADWEAR Traditional golf hats or peak caps. Caps to be worn with peak forward.
TROUSERS Traditional long or short golf trousers with belt or clasp. Formal three-quarter length golf trousers may be worn.
SOCKS Traditional knee-length golf socks may be worn with short trousers. Short socks and anklets must be predominantly white.
SHOES Only closed heel golf shoes with soft spikes are permitted.
Ladies
HEADWEAR Traditional golf hats or peak caps. Caps to be worn with peak forward.
SHIRTS Traditional collared or crew neck golf shirts to be tucked into trousers or skirts at all times. Tailored waist length ladies golf shirts need not be tucked in. Sleeveless golf shirts may also be worn.
TROUSERS Traditional long or short golf trousers with belt or clasp. Formal three-quarter length golf trousers may be worn.
Skirts Appropriate length golf skirts.
SOCKS Short socks and anklets must be predominantly white, unless colour coordinated with a golf outfit.
